Bilingual edition by Mariana Assenova and Chris Baldwin. The book presents the methodology of teaching disputed histories developed and used in the process of one-year research with young people from 4 towns in Northwest Bulgaria.

Work with objects at home, in school or on the streets, personal stories collecting, active observation of places of memories in public spaces, applied theatre and open-air museums – each case presented in the book is an example how arts could be used in the process of teaching recent history. Teaching and learning through the languages of arts stimulates students’ activities and develops competences and skills needed today and tomorrow.
